HIGHLIGHTS

A perfect mix of great riding, fun and relax!

The week will involve great riding and recovery, exactly the way all pros do it!

The first week of riding is a mix of undulating roads and medium climbs near the coast and also includes a couple of attempts to the impressive Teide Volcano, whilst the Second part is a challenging training week with long rides up & down the Volcano.

You will ride with experienced guides who are racers as well, happy to share all their knowledge! Our team bus will support you along the road, setting up strategic feed zones with top quality sport food and refreshments. At the end of the ride, our professional masseur will take care of your muscles while our mechanics look after your bike!

Put simply, we’ll do what they do and see if it works for us as well!

YOUR RIDE

WHO WOULD ENJOY THIS EXPERIENCE?

The experience is built for all riders able to ride for 4-5 hours. This is not a race or a high intensity training program: the goal is to put as much distance as we can in our legs as  base training for the racing season.

We will ride as a group on the rolling terrain and as individuals or small groups on the climbs, so that everyone will enjoy the ride. On top of each major climb we will regroup and enjoy the descent together. As a team, we’ll support each other during the ride and make sure everyone finishes safe and happy!

All cyclists interested in learning more about riding technique, training, and nutrition will have a lot of opportunities to consult our professional riders and staff, maybe while enjoying a drink by the pool or on the beach!

MORE ABOUT THE TERRAIN

We have selected some of the best routes offering a mix of all terrains.
This part of Tenerife offers quiet roads away from the crowd.
Some of the climbs can be challenging with some steep sections, but generally for short distances. The climb to Masca has some 14-15%, and it’s definitely the hardest of the trip!
Climbing up the Teide Volcano is going to be challenging as well, but mainly because of the distance (45k from the coast!) and the altitude (2100m above sea level!).
Smooth roads and a lot of respect from local drivers make it almost the perfect riding location!

TOUR ITINERARY

Day One – La Arena Warm-up Ride

Routes: 45km Total Ascent: 600m

This is a warm-up ride to ease the legs and body into 1-2 weeks of intense riding.  Some of you may have only recently stepped off a plane, so this ride offers a great way to “tease” out that tiredness.  It will include some small climbs and offer spectacular views of the surrounding mountains.

Day Two: La Arena loop to Guya de Isora

Main Route: 90 km; 63 mi | Total Ascent: 1500 m; 4900 ft (see datas)

What a start! Our first real ride will take us on the foothills of the Teide Vulcano, on some quiet roads ideal for a nice group ride. We will have great views of the ocean and the mountains and enjoy a nice Coffe and local snacks!

Day Three - La Arena loop to Masca

Main Route: 115 km; 71 mi | Total Ascent: 2000 m; 6500 ft (see datas)

We ride along the undulating coast and then up to Masca with spectacular views of the ocean all day long as well as The Teide Volcano, soon to become our main training location.

Day Four – La Arena loop to Teide Volcano

Main Route: 105 km; 66 mi | Total Ascent: 2300 m; 7200 ft (see datas)

Here we go, let’s climb! A short but challenging ride as we’ll spend most of the time climbing without the usual reward of a descent. The climb is nearly 50km (30mi) long, starting from sea level and reaching 2000m; but it’s not hard at all. Once on top, we’ll have plenty of time to explore the wild area on top of the still active volcano and meet some of the pros in the very charming hotel.

Day Five – La Arena to Puerto de la Cruz

Main Route: 75 km; 47 mi | Total Ascent: 1800 m; 9100 ft

After 5 days of intense riding we’ll take an easy one!

Today we ride in the opposite direction in the foothills of the volcano, with several challenging short climbs all the way to the picturesque town of Puerto de la Cruz.

Day Six – Puerto De La Cruz loop to Teide Vulcano via Orotawa

Main Route: 100 km; 60 mi | Total Ascent: 2200 m; 3300 ft

As most of the pros do, we’ll ride out and back along the scenic road at the summit of the volcano and then take a cable car up to the peak of the mountain to enjoy one of the best views ever.

Day Seven – Puerto de La Cruz loop to Punta de Hidalgo

Main Route: 160 km; 100 mi | Total Ascent: 3600 m;12000 ft

And what else would we do after the rest day…a big ride!! We’ll ride all the way to Punta de Hidalgo, then take in some up undulations along the coast and finally climb the longest side of Teide from Santa Cruz, which includes some steep sections at the begining but easier ones at the end.

Day Eight – Rest day or optional easy ride along the coast

Day Nine – Puerto de la Cruz loop to Masca

Main Route: 115 km; 71 mi | Total Ascent: 2000 m; 6500 ft

We ride along the undulating coast and then up to Masca with spectacular views of the ocean all day long as well as The Teide Volcano, soon to become our main training location.

Day Ten – Puerto de la Cruz to Teide Volcano

Main Route: 75 km; 40 mi | Total Ascent: 2300 m; 7200 ft

Here we go, let’s climb! A short but challenging ride as we’ll spend most of the time  climbing without the usual reward of a descent. The climb is nearly 50km (30mi) long, starting from sea level and reaching 2000m, but never to hard. Once on top, we'll have plenty of time to explore the wild area on top of the still active volcano and meet some of the pros in the very charming hotel.

Day Eleven – Teide loop to Arafo

Main Route: 145 km; 92 mi | Total Ascent: 3000 m; 9900 ft

As most of the pros do, we’ll ride down along the scenic road at the summit of the volcano then descend for 60 km to Arafo. After a long rolling section into the wind we will then climb back up the Teide from the classic side from Granadilla. This will be one of the most spectacular ride of your life!

Day Twelve – Teide Loop to Guya de Isora

Main Route: 125 km; 77 mi | Total Ascent: 2500 m; 9100 ft

A classic ride which starts with a long and windy descend to Costa Adeje and back up on the Volcano from the harder side. The climb is challenging, as it has some steep straight sections and never ending...but the view is always spectacular!de from the classic side from Granadilla. This will be one of the most spectacular ride of your life!

Day Thirteen – Teide loop to Los Cristianos

Main Route: 120 km; 75 mi | Total Ascent: 2200 m; 3300 ft

Today we ride down (as usual!) to the noisy famous beach of Los Cristianos, where we can enjoy a nice drink or visit the Hard Rock Café! After a bit of relax, we will climb back up to Volcano from Arona, yet another side!

Day Fourteen - Teide loop to Los Cristianos

Main Route: 160 km; 100 mi | Total Ascent: 3200 m;11000 ft

And what else would we do the last day...a big ride!! We’ll ride all the way to Santa Cruz de Tenerife, then take in some up undulations along the coast and finally climb the longest side of Teide from Santa Cruz, which includes some steep sections at the beginning but easier ones at the end. Enjoy your last ascent to the Volcano!
