HIGHLIGHTS
Find out why so many top pro riders such as Pogacar, Pidcock, Roglic, Vingegaard spend 15-30 days a year training on the Teide Volcano. The big reasons? Great scenery, well-paved roads, 4 different sides to climb and many other challenging rides in the surrounding area, and the altitude factor!
We will share the venue with many pro riders and do exactly what they do: ride, eat, rest and repeat! Our team vehicle will support you along the road, setting up strategic feed zones with top quality sport food and refreshments. At the end of the ride, our professional masseur will take care of your muscles while our mechanics look after your bike!
Put simply, we’ll do what they do and see if it works for us as well!
WHO WOULD ENJOY THIS EXPERIENCE?
The experience is built for all riders ready to challenge themselves on very demanding terrain. This is not a race or a high intensity training program, but the riders should be able to ride for 5-6 hours each day and finish each day with a 30-50km climb back up the Teide Volcano. This is ideal for riders looking for a big week of cycling in one of the most beautiful locations in the world.
We will ride as a group on the rolling terrain and as individuals or small groups on the climbs, so that everyone will enjoy the ride. On top of each major climb we will regroup and enjoy the descent together. As a team, we’ll support each other during the ride and make sure everyone finishes safe and happy!
All cyclists interested in learning more about riding technique, training, and nutrition will have a lot of opportunities to consult our professional riders and staff, maybe while enjoying a drink by the pool or on the beach!

MORE ABOUT THE TERRAIN
As we mentioned, the Teide will be our main riding “partner,” which means long and twisty descents followed by long and steady climbs. Each side from sea level to the summit is around 45 km long with an average gradient of 5-6%, so not really steep, but the distance and altitude always make it harder!
Some of the other climbs can be challenging with some steep sections, but generally for short distances. The climb to Masca has some 14-15%, and it’s definitely the hardest of the trip!
Super long descents, smooth roads, and a lot of respect from local drivers make it almost the perfect riding location!

TOUR ITINERARY
Day One - Puerto de la Cruz Warm-up Ride
Routes: 45km Total Ascent: 600m
This is a warm-up ride to ease the legs and body into 1-2 weeks of intense riding. Some of you may have only recently stepped off a plane, so this ride offers a great way to “tease” out that tiredness. It will include some small climbs and offer spectacular views of the surrounding mountains.
Day Two – Puerto de la Cruz loop to Masca
Main Route: 115 km; 71 mi | Total Ascent: 2000 m; 6500 ft
We ride along the undulating coast and then up to Masca with spectacular views of the ocean all day long as well as The Teide Volcano, soon to become our main training location.
Day Three – Puerto de la Cruz to Teide Volcano
Main Route: 75 km; 40 mi | Total Ascent: 2300 m; 7200 ft
Here we go, let’s climb! A short but challenging ride as we’ll spend most of the time
climbing without the usual reward of a descent. The climb is nearly 50km (30mi) long, starting from sea level and reaching 2000m, but never to hard. Once on top, we'll have plenty of time to explore the wild area on top of the still active volcano and meet some of the pros in the very charming hotel.
Day Four – Teide loop to Arafo
Main Route: 145 km; 92 mi | Total Ascent: 3000 m; 9900 ft
As most of the pros do, we’ll ride down along the scenic road at the summit of the volcano then descend for 60 km to Arafo. After a long rolling section into the wind we will then climb back up the Teide from the classic side from Granadilla. This will be one of the most spectacular ride of your life!
Day Five - Teide Loop to Guya de Isora
Main Route: 125 km; 77 mi | Total Ascent: 2500 m; 9100 ft
A classic ride which starts with a long and windy descend to Costa Adeje and back up on the Volcano from the harder side. The climb is challenging, as it has some steep straight sections and never ending...but the view is always spectacular!
Day Six - Teide loop to Los Cristianos
Main Route: 120 km; 75 mi | Total Ascent: 2200 m; 3300 ft
Today we ride down (as usual!) to the noisy famous beach of Los Cristianos, where we can enjoy a nice drink or visit the Hard Rock Café! After a bit of relax, we will climb back up to Volcano from Arona, yet another side!
Day Seven - Teide loop to Santa Cruz de Tenerife
Main Route: 160 km; 100 mi | Total Ascent: 3200 m;11000 ft
And what else would we do the last day...a big ride!! We’ll ride all the way to Santa Cruz de Tenerife, then take in some up undulations along the coast and finally climb the longest side of Teide from Santa Cruz, which includes some steep sections at the beginning but easier ones at the end. Enjoy your last ascent to the Volcano!
Day Eight – Goodbye or optional Extension
